Help Center (FAQs)

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE I DONT LOSE MY PASSPHRASE?

(1) Have a pen and paper ready BEFORE you set the passphrase. Write it down somewhere that you will not lose it.

AFTER YOU HAVE ENCRYPTED AND SET THE PASSPHRASE - CLOSE THE WALLET AND TEST IT TO MAKE SURE THE PASSPHRASE YOU TYPED IN THE THE SAME AS WHAT YOU WROTE DOWN - don’t wait until there is money in the C-wallet, or you could lose it.

   (2) Some people keep a small password book by their computer, some keep a sheet of paper in a drawer with all passwords, etc

   (3) Many people have a password spreadsheet made up that they keep on a flashdrive that is easy to access.

   (4) Email the passphrase to yourself, or keep it on a word file on a flash drive (this way in the event of losing all your information on your harddrive you still have your passphrase)

This is so important that we suggest doing 2 or more of the above.
Whatever way you decide on, it is vital that you have a way to find your passphrase - or you could lose money if you can not open your own C-wallet.
